Clover Time Beginner Guide (October 2026)
Your first 30 minutes, in a useful order. A good start beats a perfect roll.
The 30-minute route
- 00–05 min — Claim codes. Find your first book. Follow the opening tutorial and the Grimoire Tower marker. Check your starting inventory for a Mana Crystal, use it at the tower and equip the resulting book. Then try the source-reported codes in Menu → Settings.
- 05–10 min — Keep a usable starting setup. Use the Hage Priest or Customize → Rolls to review Race, Social Class and Trait separately. An Elf, Human-Dwarf, Noble, Merchant or useful mana trait is enough to begin. Save spare rolls instead of chasing a perfect build.
- 10–20 min — Quest first. Spend points with a purpose. Follow the Hage quest tracker through gathering and early combat. Start with Power for reported grimoire ability unlocks; add survivability or mana when deaths or resource shortages become your bottleneck. Check your actual move scaling rather than copying a fixed point ratio.
- 20–30 min — Prepare for your first boss. Work toward the Chain Bandit quest, reported to open around level 20. If you have not reached it within 30 minutes, keep questing. Learn blocking, watch the spawn timer and team up. Keep your first broom and save Mana Crystals for deliberate upgrades.
Redeem the latest codes during the first five minutes; free Spins cover your earliest rerolls without touching Mana Crystals.
What to upgrade first
Start with Power: reported grimoire ability unlocks are gated behind it, and a book that cannot cast its moves is only half a book. After that, upgrade against your actual bottleneck — mana when spells keep interrupting, health or stamina when deaths slow your quests.
Check your own move descriptions instead of copying a fixed ratio. Reported scaling differs per book, and beta balance changes move the numbers between updates.
Your first boss
The Chain Bandit quest opens around level 20 on the way through the main route. Learn its attack pattern before committing every cooldown, watch the spawn timer instead of assuming a fixed schedule, and bring a squad if the clear feels out of reach.
A first clear matters more than a perfect roll for it. The bosses guide lists the documented route and reward caveats.
Two currencies. Two different upgrades.
Mana Crystals roll magic books. Spins reroll character passives. Save each currency for the upgrade it actually buys.
| Resource | Use it for | Where to use it |
|---|---|---|
| Mana Crystal | A new Grimoire | Grimoire Tower; one crystal per roll reported |
| Spin / Special Spin | Character rerolls | Hage Priest or Customize → Rolls; check the selected category |
| Mana Crystal Fragment | Crafting a whole crystal | Crafting bench; fragments cannot roll a book directly |
| Yuls / Iuns | Merchant purchases and travel | Money is spelled differently across community reports |
Our take: Need stronger magic? Work on crystals. Need a better race or trait? Save Spins. Read the live roll screen before confirming a spend.

Three build directions worth keeping
These are editorial PvE combinations, not damage-tested prescriptions. Keep a useful setup you already own before spending toward one of these targets.
| Goal | Book + passives | Why we would keep it |
|---|---|---|
| Accessible spell progression | Ice + High Mana; keep a usable race | A lower-rarity control book with extra mana supports early spell practice |
| Sustained boss damage | Poison + Elf + Mana Sensitive | Damage over time plus casting sustain suits longer encounters |
| Demonic-form target | Anti-Magic + Devil + Chosen One | Devil is the listed demonic-form requirement; broad passive bonuses support an expensive long-term target |
Our take: Upgrade the weakest link in your current fights. Missing a useful move? Work toward its unlock. Running dry? Improve sustain. Dying early? Keep a health-oriented passive. A rarer roll cannot fix every problem.

Your early travel toolkit
Broom flight is confirmed by the developer. These other navigation details are community reports and can change during beta.
| Tool | Reported access | Why it helps |
|---|---|---|
| Magic Broom | Early rewards and chests; H summon and Shift boost on PC reported | Fast travel, but flight uses mana; boosting drains it faster |
| Spawn crystal | Interact with the village crystal | Set a convenient respawn point before a long trip |
| Finral | Teleport NPC; a fee is reported | Read the destination and price before paying |
| Nero training | Find Nero in the starting area; Trello titles disagree on level 5 versus 7 | Training card lists first-clear +75 health, +35 stamina, +50 mana and Double Jump |
Our take: Keep your first broom. When flight keeps stopping, check your mana before hunting for a rarer broom. Finral is a shortcut when its fee makes sense for your current wallet.

What can you earn while AFK?
The developer confirms an AFK World. A community interface report describes the timers below; treat the reward screen in your current session as the final reference.
| Reward | Reported cadence | Evidence limit |
|---|---|---|
| Spin | 15 minutes | Community report; not independently timed by this site |
| EXP / money buff option | 30 minutes | Buff amount and stacking behavior unverified |
| Mana Crystal | Not established | Availability reported; no confirmed earning interval |
| Weekly reward track | Progress-based | Read its current requirements and claim buttons |
Our take: AFK rewards can support future rerolls. Do not budget around an assumed number of crystals per hour: that rate has not been established.

The opening route is a community-reported order of operations, not a scripted tutorial walkthrough. Where your session differs, follow the in-game quest tracker first.
